Zaman Khan eyes Babar Azam's wicket in upcoming clash

Lahore Qalandars' young pacer Zaman Khan has expressed his desire to take the wicket of Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam in their upcoming clash in the Pakistan Super League (PSL).

Zaman had dropped Babar's catch in the previous year's match but is now hopeful that he will be able to dismiss him this time.

"My goal is to take Babar Azam's wicket. Unfortunately, last year I dropped the catch myself, but this time, I am hopeful that I will be able to get him out," said Zaman.

In an exclusive interview with a local media news channel, Zaman also praised Mohammad Haris as a good batter and mentioned that he would use different variations while bowling to him.

Zaman feels fortunate to have international players like Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf beside him as he can learn from them.

"Shaheen and Haris are both international players and I get the opportunity to learn from them," he said.

In the PSL 8 opener against Multan, Zaman defended 15 runs in the last over against experienced batters like Khushdil Shah and Kieron Pollard, helping Lahore Qalandars win the match by one run. He used his skills in death bowling, including yorkers and slower ones, which he practiced after the red-ball season ended.

Zaman's performance in the last over was similar to the one he delivered against Islamabad United in the seventh edition of PSL.

The young pacer credits his success to his white-ball practice and the confidence his skipper gives him during the match.

"Whenever our red-ball season ends, we practice white-ball bowling, especially in the death overs, where we learn to bowl yorkers and slower ones. This helps in the match and the skipper enjoys it and gives me confidence."
