Aamer Jamal has etched his name in the annals of Pakistan's Test cricket history by accomplishing a remarkable feat – becoming the first bowler in the country to claim 18 wickets in his debut series, which typically consists of three matches or fewer.

In the ongoing New Year's Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground, Aamer Jamal not only displayed his prowess with the ball but also showcased his batting skills by contributing an impressive 82-run knock. His valuable contribution played a pivotal role in Pakistan amassing a total of 313 runs in the first innings.

Continuing his stellar performance, Aamer Jamal further solidified his impact on the match by securing a six-wicket haul with the ball. This exceptional bowling effort led to the dismissal of Australia for 299 runs, thereby granting Pakistan a 14-run lead.

In the process, Aamer Jamal has matched feat achieved by Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder, Imran Khan. He has become the only Pakistani cricketer after Imran Khan to make a score of 80 plus and take a six-wicket innings haul in the same match. Imran Khan previously accomplished this feat in a Test match against India back in 1983.

Along with that Aamer Jamal has also become the first bowler in Pakistan's Test history to take 18 wickets in debut series.
