Abrar Ahmed missed the Test series against Australia due to injury, and a medical report has revealed that the mystery spinner’s condition was a consequence of disregarding the instructions provided by the medical panel.

According to a local media report, Abrar chose not to adhere to the advice given by doctors regarding the management of his injury.

The report revealed that Abrar was diagnosed with Sciatica, a condition marked by leg pain, numbness, or tingling. He first felt discomfort in his right hip during the ICC World Cup 2023 in India and promptly underwent testing, resulting in the diagnosis of Sciatica. After diagnosis, a recovery plan was created for the spinner. Yet, the mystery spinner failed to follow these instructions as reported.

Abrar got injured during a four-day practice match in Australia, where he complained about pain in his right leg on the third day, and had to miss the first two Tests and was ultimately ruled out of the final match too.

Abrar is presently in the process of rehabilitation at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore. Consequently, he will not be participating in Pakistan's upcoming five-match T20I series against New Zealand, which is set to begin on January 12 in Auckland.
