Hollioake showered praise on the 22-year-old, labeling him as a truly exceptional talent
Pakistan's batting coach, Adam Hollioake, has expressed a strong belief in the remarkable potential of left-handed opener Saim Ayub.
After working with Ayub in Australia and New Zealand recently, Hollioake showered praise on the 22-year-old, labeling him as a truly exceptional talent.
"I haven't seen a more talented player than Saim Ayub. He didn't play the first 2 Tests (in Australia) so I spent a lot of time with him (in practice),” Hollioake said.
“After a couple of Tests, you've hardly beaten his edge, haven't gotten him out, and you realize you're dealing with a player with a lot of talent. I think he's a potential great of the game.”
Hollioake goes on to predict that Ayub has the potential to become a cricketing great.
“It's early days and Test cricket is hard, but he has the ability to be one of the great players," Hollioake said.
“Mentally, how he stands up to the grinds of international cricket and bounces back from failure (is something we'll see). Everything else, he ticks all the boxes," he added.
