Pakistan batter, Ahmed Shehzad has expressed his opinion with the exclusion of Mohammad Haris from the national squad for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England.

The squad announced for these matches is likely to form the core of the team for the upcoming T20I World Cup, and Haris's absence from the selection raised questions among cricket enthusiasts.

Speaking on a local news channel, Shehzad criticized Haris's performance, stating that he had not shown enough on the field to justify his inclusion in the squad.

"I think Mohammad Haris doesn't have any performances so he didn't make the cut [for Ireland T20Is]. He made a 50 in PSL and then he was brought in [in the Pakistan Team]. People campaign for him but he didn't do anything worthy - scored 23 and 25 in World Cup. People struggle for eight, ten years but still don't get an opportunity," Shehzad said.

Shehzad also expressed concern about players relying on social media campaigns to secure spots in the national team, suggesting that such efforts could ultimately backfire.

"People say let him play four-day cricket. None of the departments picked up and people are still campaigning for him. Believe me, this will backfire on him. All these campaigns against all these players will go against them," he further added.

It is worth noting that Haris's international cricket record includes 30 runs in six ODIs, with an average of 7.5, and 126 runs in nine T20I innings, averaging 14.
