Kamran Akmal, former Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman, has criticized national team players for focusing more on personal objectives rather than team goals. He made these remarks following Ireland's five-wicket victory over Pakistan in the first T20I on Friday.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Akmal emphasized the need for players to prioritize team success, expressing concern that individual agendas could hinder progress. He suggested that such behavior would be identified by team management and needed to be addressed for improvement.

"We will get better when we will try to play good cricket. The players must think about the team and we will continue to lose if things stay like this. I am looking that players are prioritising personal goals which is not good for the side. The team management will soon identify this," Akmal said.

It is worth noting that Babar attributed the first T20I loss to poor bowling and fielding. Despite a competitive total of 182 runs, Babar acknowledged shortcomings in execution and fielding lapses that contributed to the defeat.

Ireland defeated Pakistan by five wickets, with notable performances from Andy Balbirnie and Harry Tector. The remaining matches in the series are scheduled for May 12th and May 14th.
