Kamran Akmal-led unit register 149-run win on Sunday
Abid Ali’s stunning century and an all-round bowling performance was enough for Federal Areas to register a thumping 149-run win against Sindh in the Pakistan Cup in Faisalabad on Sunday.
After opting to field first, Sindh made a great start as Federal lost captain Kamran Akmal and his opening partner Awais Zia early.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Ali, who came at one-down, played a stunning knock and scored 109 off 145 balls even though wickets kept falling around him, and helped his team in posting a respectable total of 242-8.
For Sindh, pacers Mohammad Irfan, Junaid Khan and off-spinner Bilal Asif claimed two wickets each.
In reply, Umar Amin-led unit had a horrid time with the bat as they were bowled out for just 93 overs in 31 overs. Khurram Shehzad finishing as the top scorer with 25 off 50 balls with the help of one four and one six.
For the victorious side, pacer Waqas Maqsood, off-spinner Agha Salman claimed three, whereas left-arm spinner Raza Hasan claimed two wickets.
