The duo shared the infamous ‘elbowing’ incident at the Lord’s Cricket Ground
Left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir, in an Instagram live session with opener Shan Masood, recalled how the former Australian captain Ricky Ponting sledged him and middle-order batsman Umar Amin during the first Test of 2010 series between Pakistan and Australia at Lord’s Cricket Ground.
The duo first shared the infamous ‘elbowing’ incident, in which Amir had collided with Ponting as he celebrated dismissing the Tasmanian for 26.
“Remember, Umar Amin took the catch of Ponting,” Shan said while speaking about the eventful Test match.
“Me and Umar Amin got verbally abused by Ponting after dismissing him. He elbowed me as well,” Amir replied.

Amir was later warned by match referee Chris Broad for getting himself into the personal space of the Australian captain while celebrating his wicket.
Shan also revealed an incident from the same match, in which debutant Amin got a piece of advice from Ponting.
“When he [Umar Amin] went to bat in that match, his shirt was not tucked in. So when he was taking his batting guard, Ponting came up to him and asked him to tuck in his shirt because he was not playing in his backyard,” he said.
“He scared the poor guy before he could bat,” Amir added.
Pakistan lost the aforementioned Test match by 150 runs, but then made a comeback and won the second Test at Leeds by three wickets, to draw the series 1-1.
