Middle-order batsman Asad Shafiq is hoping to seek advice from former Pakistan batting great Mohammad Yousuf, who is currently working as a batting coach at National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Lahore.

Shafiq, who was dropped from the Pakistan Test side for the first time in 10 years ahead of New Zealand tour, is looking to regain his form and impress the national team selectors once again.

“I have talked to Yousuf bhai and he invited me to NCA during the National T20 Cup. I will go to Lahore in future to work with him on two or three things,” Shafiq told reporters in a virtual press conference on Monday.

The Karachi-born batsman scored his 24th first-class century on the opening day of the fourth round of the ongoing Quaid-e-Azam Trophy against Southern Punjab at the National Stadium in Karachi.

“The issue with me was that I could not convert good starts to big scores, which was putting pressure on me. In this game against Southern Punjab I did that and hit a century. I plan on doing the same for Sindh in upcoming matches,” he added.
