Former Pakistan Test cricketer, Javed Miandad, has urged India to participate in the Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Pakistan in September this year.

In a recent podcast, Miandad assured that there are no security issues in the country and invited India to come and play in the tournament.

"There should be no concern about security. We believe that death will come when it is destined. They should definitely come," Javed said.

India's refusal to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup 2023 has put the future of the tournament in doubt.

The 65-year-old expressed disappointment on India's decision, stating that Pakistan fulfilled its commitment by visiting India in 2012-13.

"If they call us today, we will go. But they should return the move. The thing is the last time we went, they haven't come here since. It's their turn now," he said.

The former captain emphasized that both countries should work together to improve their bilateral relations.

“Even Indians believe this. We are neighbours, and so we can exchange many things. Such a relationship would benefit both. However, only if the exchange is mutual," he said.

“It can not be that it is a one-sided thing," he concluded.
