Left-arm bowlers Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Amir combined to claim five wickets, shaking New Zealand's batting lineup as they were dismissed for a mere 90 runs in the second Twenty20 match held in Rawalpindi.

Shaheen led the bowling attack with figures of 3-13, while Amir, making a comeback to international cricket after almost four years, took 2-13.

Amir expressed his emotions about his return to international cricket, acknowledging the pressure and crediting his teammates, particularly Shaheen and Babar, for their support.

"When you're playing for your country, you can't explain the feeling. There was pressure, of course, because I was coming back after 4 years. The credit goes to the boys, Shaheen and Babar, for the way they gave me confidence," Amir said.

Babar, the skipper, emphasized the importance of the bowling performance in setting the tone early on.

"It's crucial to set the tone in first six overs at this ground," Babar said.

"The way Naseem, Shaheen and Amir bowled was outstanding and helped us get early wickets," he added.

In response, Mohammad Rizwan played a pivotal role in anchoring Pakistan's chase, scoring an unbeaten 45 runs off 34 balls, including a six and four boundaries. His composed innings ensured Pakistan reached the target comfortably in 12.1 overs, securing a seven-wicket victory and taking a 1-0 lead in the five-match series
