Peshawar Zalmi's captain, Babar Azam, apologized to his opening partner, Saim Ayub, for the crucial run-out during the chase against Quetta Gladiators in the PSL season nine.

The misunderstanding between them in the ninth over disrupted their strong start, leading to Saim's wicket and a setback for Zalmi at 91-1 in 8.4 overs.

In the post-match ceremony, Babar acknowledged his mistake, calling the run-out the turning point and expressing regret to Saim.

"The run-out was the turning point," Babar said.

"We were building a good partnership and looking to take the partnership long into the innings. Unfortunately, it was my mistake and I've said sorry to Saim," he added.

Despite their promising partnership, Quetta won by 16 runs, capitalizing on the middle-order struggle of Peshawar after the unfortunate run-out.
