Skipper Babar Azam continues to register multiple records as Pakistan looks to create history on Day Five of the second Test at the National Stadium in Karachi.

Babar Azam, who was unable to score a Test century since December 2019, surpassed his own previous best of 143 in the fourth innings of the Test.

Babar is batting on 182* at the end of 145 overs. Pakistan requires 157 more runs in 27 overs to create history.

Babar Azam surpassed Shoaib Malik's (369) record of playing most deliveries by a Pakistani batter in the fourth innings during his knock.

Babar also created a record for the highest fourth inning total by a Test captain, surpassing England’s Micheal Atherton, who scored 185 against South Africa in 1995.

Another record the 27-year-old broke during his knock is most runs by a Pakistani batter in the fourth innings. He crossed Younis Khan, who made 171* against Sri Lanka in 2015. The right-handed batsman is set to score his maiden double ton in pursuit of a record chase of 506.
