Pakistan's white-ball captain, Babar Azam, has expressed his thoughts following a disappointing loss against India in their T20 World Cup clash on Sunday, June 9, at the Nassau County International Stadium in New York.

During the post-match conference, Azam reflected on the team's performance and their strategies.

"Our tactics were simple, to play normally and rotate strike with the odd boundary, like 5-6 an over. But I think in that period we played too many dot balls and the pressure was on us. Then we lost back-to-back wickets and you can't expect your tailenders (to finish)," Babar said.

The 29-year-old further elaborated on their approach during the powerplay and death overs.

"Our plan was simple, to utilize the first 6 overs, but we lost a wicket. We weren't up to the mark in the first 6 overs; we were targeting 40-45 but we didn't capitalize properly. After that, we had the same mistake in the death overs," he said.

India secured an exciting victory over Pakistan in the T20 World Cup match on Sunday at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. This triumph puts the Men in Blue at the top of the points table with four points. Their next challenge will be against the USA at the same venue on Wednesday , June 12.

Pakistan, on the other hand, will aim for their first points when they face Canada on Tuesday in New York. Group A’s next match is set for Tuesday, June 11, between Pakistan and Canada in New York.
