Babar Azam seeks power-hitting advice from Australian coach Shannon Young in Lahore

Pakistan's white-ball captain Babar Azam has recently met with Australian power-hitting specialist Shannon Young during his private visit to Lahore.

The meeting took place at a local cricket club, where Azam sought Young's expertise in enhancing his power-hitting capabilities.

Young, known for his work with Australian stars like Glenn Maxwell and Marnus Labuschagne, has earned acclaim for his coaching in maximizing players' strike rates.

His techniques have been credited by Australia's rising opener Jake Fraser-McGurk for his explosive batting prowess.

Following Pakistan's campaign in the ICC T20 World Cup, Babar Azam extended his stay in New York to focus intensively on personal fitness and training.

It is worth noting that the Men in Green had a disappointing T20 World Cup campaign. They faced an upset defeat at the hands of co-hosts the USA, followed by a crucial loss against arch-rivals India.

Despite winning their last two matches against Canada and Ireland, it wasn't enough to advance to the next round, resulting in their elimination from the tournament.

Pakistan is now gearing up to host Bangladesh for a two-match Test series scheduled between August and September.

The upcoming Test series is also part of the ongoing 2023-2025 ICC World Test Championship cycle, providing Pakistan an opportunity to rebound from their T20 World Cup challenges.
