The Government of Pakistan had previously announced that Babar would be receiving the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award, and now the date for the ceremony has been confirmed.

The award will be presented on 23rd March 2023, which coincides with the Pakistan Day celebrations.

The right-hand batsman will be taking a break from cricket to attend the ceremony, as he will not be participating in the series against Afghanistan, which is scheduled to start on 24th March.

Babar Azam has emerged as a role model for aspiring cricketers, and this honor is a testament to his dedication and hard work in the field of cricket.

Several other exceptional Pakistan cricketers have also received the prestigious Sitara-e-Imtiaz title from the Government of Pakistan.

Notably, four former captains, including Misbah-ul-Haq, Younis Khan, Shahid Afridi, and Sarfraz Ahmed, have been awarded this third-highest civil honor in the nation for their outstanding contributions to cricket.

Before them, only four other cricketers had received the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award for their remarkable sports achievements. These include Mohammad Yousuf in 2011, Saeed Ajmal in 2015, Javed Miandad in 1992, and Inzamam ul Haq in 2005.

Previously, former Pakistan captain, Sarfraz Ahmed, was the youngest Pakistan cricketer to receive the Sitara-e-Imtiaz award.
