"There are two biggest captains in world cricket, and I can confidently say that they don't believe in data, one is Babar Azam and the other is Virat Kohli,” Latif said on his YouTube channel.

PCB has appointed Hassan Cheema as selection committee secretary and manager analytics and team strategy for national men's side. Latif agrees with his appointment but feels that Cheema needs to take the captain on board to make better use of data.

"Hassan Cheema has experience with data, whether he worked with Islamabad United or with any other [franchise]. Now, his job is to convince the captain regarding the use of data and then see how he would describe the data to players and how he will use it in the match, so this is the first step,” Latif said.

Furthermore, Latif highlighted the importance of utilizing domestic cricket data.

"Things can improve further making use of data in domestic cricket," he concluded.
