Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistani cricket team, addressed the question about whether there is a plan to experiment with the opening pair in the upcoming T20I series against New Zealand.

While speaking to media in Lahore, he made it clear that there is currently no such plan, and the team will continue with his partnership with Mohammad Rizwan as the opening pair.

"There is no such plan currently to experiment [with the opening pair]. We will continue with my opening partnership with Rizwan. After that, we will decide which player is suitable for what number in the batting-order. We will announce the playing XI [for first T20I] after practice tonight," Babar said.

Babar also opened up about the possibility of playing the likes of Saim Ayub and Mohammad Haris in the middle-order.

"The good thing about these youngsters is that they aren't worried about their batting positions. All they say is tell us the plan what is required for the betterment of the team," ," he said.

The first T20I between Pakistan and New Zealand will be played on Friday at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
