Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batsman played a key role in his team’s victory against Karachi Kings
Lahore Qalandars’ wicketkeeper-batsman Ben Dunk has revealed his goals for the remainder of the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six.
Speaking after his team’s win over Karachi Kings, where he scored 57 unbeaten off 43 balls, Dunk said that Qalandars’ are eager to go deep in the tournament once again after playing the final last year.
“The goal is to go really deep in the tournament, certainly make that top four and hopefully play our best cricket at the backend of the tournament. From a personal point, hopefully I can just contribute whatever is needed. I’m happy if I don’t even get a bat and the team wins because that’s the main thing,” said Dunk.
He also admitted that, despite scoring a fifty, this wasn’t his most fluent innings with the bat.
“It certainly wasn’t my most fluent innings today. I had a pretty important role to play with Fakhar [Zaman], he was batting beautifully. We just had to hang in and take it as deep as we can, so we can see Davy’s [David Wiese] fireworks towards the end. It wasn’t my best innings but I’m glad that we got the game done,” he said.
The Qalandars are currently placed on the second position in the points table with three wins out of four games.
Lahore’s next match is against Islamabad United on Thursday, March 4 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
