Former Bangladesh captain Shakib al Hasan, currently playing in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2023, was fined 15% of his match fees for arguing with umpires during a game between Fortune Barishal and Rangpur Riders.

Nurul Hasan and Anamul Haque were also fined for disobeying the umpire's instructions and showing dissent, respectively, under Article 2.4 of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Code of Conduct.

The incident occurred when Hasan, who was not playing in the game, instructed a teammate to take a strike, which led to a change in the opposing team's bowling strategy and resulted in an argument between Hasan and the opposing captain and umpires.

All three players accepted the fines and one demerit point to their disciplinary record proposed by the match referee.
