Mohammad Wasim, Pakistan men's team Chief Selector, has been sacked from his role.

The decision came after Najam Sethi took charge of the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) management committee.

Wasim was named head of the selection committee in January 2021. He was under immense pressure after Pakistan got whitewashed in the home Test series against England.

Meanwhile, the management committee has also terminated all committees formed under the now-defunct 2019 constitution. PCB Management Committee under Najam Sethi has sacked all the local and foreign coaches of six domestic teams.

Remember, PM Shehbaz Sharif removed Ramiz Raja and his Board after revoking the PCB 2019 constitution and giving the Sethi-led 14-member committee full executive powers to work on reviving the department structure which was abolished in 2019 after Imran Khan became the prime minister of the country - the prime minister of Pakistan is automatically the patron-in-chief of the PCB.

The new committee will have 120 days to change the PCB's constitution, bringing back the 2014 version to replace the one put in place in 2019. The committee will be tasked with the responsibility of forming a board of governors and electing a chairman, as stipulated in the 2014 constitution.
