Pakistan men's team chief selector Mohammad Wasim has disclosed the reason behind dropping all-rounder Imad Wasim from the white-ball squads.

The 33-year-old last represented the Men in Green in the 2021 T20 World Cup while he was benched on the tour of Bangladesh. Since then, he has been out of the squad.

Mohammad Wasim highlighted that Imad's performance and fitness issues were not up to the mark,

"Imad's performance in the recent past wasn't up to the mark. He also has fitness issues which is why he is suffering," said Wasim [via Cricket Baaz with Waheed Khan].

"Currently, we have high fitness standards in the team. And, it is visible in team's performance," he added.

Meanwhile, Wasim also explained why Mohammad Nawaz is a better option than Imad Wasim.

"Looking at his performance, his fitness and performance are going good currently," Wasim praised.
