Abrar Ahmed and Saud Shakeel of the Quetta Gladiators have each received fines amounting to five percent of their match fees due to Level 1 breaches of the HBL PSL's code of conduct during their team's HBL PSL 9 match against Islamabad United at the National Bank Stadium in Karachi on Friday evening.

Abrar was found to have contravened Article 2.4 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct, which states: "Disobeying an umpire's instruction during the match." This transpired during the 19th over of Islamabad United's batting innings, wherein Abrar, while fielding, disregarded the umpires' directive and rolled the ball along the ground despite being instructed not to do so.

In a separate occurrence during the same match, Saud was found to have breached Article 2.5 of the HBL PSL Code of Conduct, which outlines: "Using language, actions, or gestures that disparage or could instigate an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during a match." Following the dismissal of United's batter Salman Ali Agha in the 12th over, Saud approached Salman closely and made remarks that had the potential to provoke the batter.

Both players admitted their guilt regarding the charges and agreed to the penalties proposed by match referee Mohammad Javed.
