Pakistan all-rounder Nida Dar was given not out during a match against Australia after a late withdrawal at the crease.

The umpire signaled a dead ball and play resumed without protest from the Australians, but commentators questioned whether it should have been a potential wicket.

Replays showed that Dar looked up and saw the ball being released but did not pull away until after it had been released.

“I was always under the impression that when you were in your stance and tapped your bat down, you were ready to accept the delivery,” Rachael Haynes, former Australian captain, said on Fox Cricket, “Nida Dar needs to be a bit careful there.”

Alex Blackwell, former Australian batter, continued,  “I thought that was fair; she didn’t see the ball.”

Some commentators, including a former Australian captain and a reporter, believed that this should have been considered out, but Pakistan still lost the match by 101 runs, and also lost the series 3-0.
