Former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has opined that the criticism on Pakistan and Karachi Kings' captain Babar Azam over not finishing matches is valid.

While talking on his YouTube channel, the 45-year-old said that Babar Azam is far better than wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan but Multan Sultans' captain knows how to keep the scoreboard ticking.

"The criticism on Babar over not finishing matches is right and he has been struggling with this for years. Give him time, he will learn as he is a great player and far better than Rizwan," Akhtar said.

"Rizwan scores 40-ball 80 and keeps the scoreboard ticking. Babar needs to learn this and there's no need to get disheartened over this, you will soon get there. Criticism is always good and you will become a mega-brand in years to come," he added.

It must be noted that former captain Inzamamul Haq also critcised Babar Azam over his slow approach in the match against Peshawar Zalmi. He scored 63-ball 90 but Karachi lost the match by 9 runs.
