While acknowledging Aamer Jamal's commendable performance in Test matches, Babar pointed out the necessity for all-rounder to gain more experience and matches to fine-tune his skills for the T20 format
Aamer Jamal posted a cryptic message on social media after being overlooked from the T20I squad selected for the upcoming series against Ireland and England.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday, he shared a video showcasing his batting prowess in the ongoing English County Championship, representing Warwickshire, where he managed to score 40 runs in his first innings.
Accompanying the video was a caption laden with ambiguity: "Things are not always what they seem; the first appearance deceives many," followed by a finger on mouth emoji.
In a press briefing ahead of the team's departure to Ireland, Babar, the captain, addressed the issue, making a clear distinction between Test and T20 cricket.
While acknowledging Jamal's commendable performance in Test matches, he pointed out the necessity for Jamal to gain more experience and matches to fine-tune his skills for the T20 format.
"Aamer Jamal performed in Test cricket and Test performance cannot be compared with T20s. He is a fine all-rounder but the place where he bats, we need a genuine hitter. Jamal needs some more time and more matches under his belt which will get him further polished for T20 cricket," Babar said.
