Simon Doull has rubbished Indian media reports which quoted the Kiwi commentator saying that he went through a horrid time in Pakistan during PSL 8, after criticizing Babar Azam.

Earlier this year, Doull, had slammed Peshawar Zalmi skipper, when he scored his maiden PSL century against Quetta Gladiators in the eighth edition of the tournament.

During his commentary stint, Doull criticized Babar for putting his personal milestones above the team's goal. He stated that Babar should have prioritized the team and focused on looking for boundaries instead of slowing down the run-rate.

Indian media outlets ran stories on Thursday, quoting Doull’s following statement:

"Living in Pakistan is like living in jail. I was not allowed to go out as Babar Azam fans were waiting for me. And I stayed without food for many days. Even I was mentally tortured, but by the grace of God, I somehow escaped."

However, the Kiwi commentator, have denied making any such statement, reported journalist, Saj Sadiq.

"Just spoke with Simon Doull. He denies reports quoting him as saying he was not allowed to go out in Pakistan as Babar Azam fans were waiting for him and that he stayed in Pakistan without food for many days. He says that he absolutely loved his time in Pakistan," Sadiq wrote on Twitter.

Doull recently also voiced his disapproval of Virat Kohli's slowing down when he was about to reach his half-century in the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Lucknow Super Giants.

Doull suggested that Kohli's deceleration was due to his focus on achieving a milestone rather than trying to score runs quickly.

“Kohli started off like a train, he was going hammer and tongs, playing a lot of shots,” Doull said during commentary. “From 42 to 50 he took 10 balls.”

“Concerned about a milestone. I don’t think there’s room for that in this game anymore. You’ve just got to keep going especially with wickets in hand at that stage. You’ve got to keep going,” he concluded.
