Dr. Sohail Saleem, chief of the Medical Commission at the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), has resigned from his position on Thursday.

According to sources, Saleem's decision came in the wake of the release of players' medical reports.

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi had formed an independent inquiry committee to assess the injuries of unfit players, including Ihsanullah, Arshad Iqbal, and Zeeshan Zamir. The committee has submitted its report to the cricket board.

Naqvi had indicated that if the report highlighted any negligence in diagnosing the players' injuries, strict action would be taken against those who are responsible.

It is worth noting that Dr. Saleem's resignation is not the first of its kind; he had previously resigned from his role during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) due to issues related to COVID-19 cases but returned to the board during the tenure of former PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf.
