Skipper Babar Azam and wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan open the innings for Pakistan. The pair is best in terms of runs and have stitched five century partnerships.

However, there has been constant scrutiny over their approach in the first six overs. Shan Masood and Haider Ali opened the innings for the Men in Green against England on Monday in the T20 World Cup 2022 warm-up match at the Gabba in Brisbane.

They posted 49 runs in 4.5 overs with Pakistan scoring an impressive 66/1 in the powerplay. Haider Ali scored 18 off 16 with the help of three fours while Shan Masood made 22-ball 39, powered by seven fours.

Babar and Rizwan have been opening for the last 18 months, so it is impossible that Pakistan will change their opening pair for the mega event.

Meanwhile, the netizens were happy with Pakistan's start and loved the free-flowing approach.

Pakistan = 66 in Power Play!
This game is happening today. I've been saying since long alongwith many friends; Babar and Rizwan shouldn't be opening together. I'ld have Rizwan come down the order. He plays a lot of dot balls in PP which doesn't allow Pakistan to put big totals

Surprisingly today, Pakistan are off to quick start as they have made 66-1 after the powerplay against England!

Shan Masood and Haider Ali opened the batting while Captain Shadab Khan is in at No.3.

Pakistan is 66-1 after power play. Always said I'll take a 60-1 or even a 65-2 over a 40-0 ALL DAY

Absolutely loving this positive intent by Shan and Haider. This is how your openers should bat in the powerplay🤩 #PAKvENG #PakistanCricket
