Fatima Sana nominated for ICC Women's ODI Player of the Year

Apart from her, South Africa's Lizelle Lee, West Indies' Hayley Matthews and England's Tammy Beaumont are named for the award

ICC have shortlisted nominations for Women's ODI Player of the Year award and Pakistan's all-rounder Fatima Sana is among them.

Apart from her, South Africa's Lizelle Lee, West Indies' Hayley Matthews and England's Tammy Beaumont are named for the award.

Fatima, 20, was impressive throughout the year with the ball and bat. She showed tremendous maturity and was one of the few bright spots for Pakistan.

She claimed 20 wickets in 13 matches at an average of 24.90 with one five-wicket haul and scored 132 runs at an average of 14.66.

Meanwhile, Lizelle Lee shined as an opener for South Africa, scoring 632 runs in 11 matches at an average of 90.28 with one century and five half-centuries.

Tammy Beaumont made 503 runs in 11 matches at an average of 62.87 with one century and four half-centuries while Hayle Matthews scored 380 runs in 14 matches at an average of 29.23 with one century and one half-century. She alos took 18 wickets at an average of 22.44 and an economy rate of 3.33.

It must be noted that ICC will continue to unveil nominations of each category of ICC Awards every single day. The winners for each category will be announced in January. 

The official ICC Team of the Years are set to be announced on 17 and 18 January. The individual awards pertaining to women’s cricket will be announced on 23 January. The men’s awards, as well as the Spirit of Cricket and Umpire of the Year award, will be announced on 24 January.
