Fawad Alam optimistic about Pakistan’s chances against West Indies

Pakistan’s batsman Fawad Alam, in a Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) video on Saturday, expressed optimism at the Men in Green’s chances of coming out victorious in the upcoming two-match Test series against West Indies.

The 35-year-old claimed that recent victories had given the team and the player's confidence while stating that the side will try to keep the momentum going.

“A win always boosts the morale of both the team and the players. We will try to continue our winning ways against West Indies as well. We will try to win the series by winning both matches. Preparations before any international match is very important. Our first intra-squad practice match was affected by rain,” Alam said.

“The start and stop nature of the rain breaks a player’s momentum. You usually see this kind of weather in England. As professionals, we are always ready for these situations. The good thing is that we are getting a chance to practice on the center pitch. We are doing tough physical training to cope with the weather and temperature,” he concluded.

West Indies and Pakistan are scheduled to clash in the first Test on August 12 at the Sabina Park in Jamaica followed by the second Test which starts on August 20 at the same venue.
