Former England cricketer Alex Hales has shared his admiration for Pakistan's wicket-keeper batter Azam Khan, lauding him as one of the best hitters and strikers of the cricket ball he has played with.

During media interaction, Hales commended him as one of the finest hitters in the shortest format of the game, highlighting his outstanding form over the past couple of years.

"I think he's brilliant. He's one of the best hitters, strikers of a cricket ball I've played with. He's absolutely brilliant. His form the last couple of years has been really good. He's a great guy to have in your team. Really nice guy," Hales remarked when asked about Azam Khan's position in the team.

Responding to questions about Azam's fitness, especially considering his recent run-out in a match, Hales downplayed any concerns.

"He got run out today, but those things happen in cricket. I nearly got run out as well. It's one of those things, but you can't knock back his ability and talent. The way he hits the ball is second to none. And I think he's got a really bright future ahead of him. He's a brilliant player," he said.

It is worth noting that the wicket-keeper batter is currently playing for Desert Vipers in the ongoing ILT20 2024, sharing the field with compatriots Shaheen Afridi, Shadab Khan, and Mohammad Amir.
