The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to hold the ninth edition of Pakistan Super League in four cities, which include Lahore, Karachi, Rawalpindi, and Multan.

The proposed schedule sets the first match to be held in Lahore on February 18. However, concerns have been raised by some franchises regarding the suitability of this timing, citing cold weather and fog as potential hindrances.

One contentious point revolves around the proposed final scheduled for Karachi on March 19. Teams are apprehensive about potential low crowd attendance impacting ticket revenue. In response to this, Multan Sultans have suggested hosting the final in Multan, expressing confidence in drawing a substantial audience to fill the stadium.

The sources further revealed that that Peshawar Zalmi is persistently advocating for hosting matches in Peshawar, asserting that the stadium's construction work will be completed within two months. Nevertheless, the PCB has yet to make a decision regarding the inclusion of Peshawar among the host cities.

During the holy month of Ramadan in March, there are also objections to scheduling double-headers.

The PCB intends to release the schedule on December 13 during the PSL draft event.

It is must be noted that there was a proposal to relocate the PSL to the UAE due to general elections in the country. However, the PCB has ultimately decided to conduct the entire event in Pakistan.
