The Pakistan men's cricket team has received a significant boost with the arrival of their new white-ball head coach, Gary Kirsten. The former South African cricketer joined the team in Leeds ahead of their four-match T20I series against England.

Kirsten's appointment is seen as a strategic move to enhance Pakistan's preparations and performance in the upcoming series and the World Cup.

Upon his arrival, Kirsten was warmly welcomed by the team management and captain Babar Azam. In a symbolic gesture, senior manager Wahab Riaz presented Kirsten with the team's training shirt, marking the beginning of his tenure with the squad.

The Pakistan team commenced their practice sessions at Headingley, Leeds, with rigorous training scheduled from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM local time on May 20. The final training session before the first T20I is slated for Tuesday, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM. This preparation is crucial as the first T20I match between Pakistan and England will be played on May 22 at Headingley.

This T20I series is of paramount importance for both teams as it serves as a precursor to the World Cup, which is set to begin just two days after the series concludes. The tournament will take place in the United States, adding an extra layer of excitement and international exposure.

Pakistan has been drawn into Group A of the World Cup, where they will face off against arch-rivals India, along with Ireland, Canada, and the USA. On the other hand, England will compete in Group B, which includes formidable opponents such as Australia, Namibia, Scotland, and Oman.
