Quetta are currently placed at the bottom of the points table
Quetta Gladiators will take on Islamabad United in the ongoing HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six clash in Abu Dhabi.
The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led unit, Gladiators, are currently placed at the bottom of the points table, with only one win from five games and will be eager to register a victory inorder to stay in contention for the playoffs. Tonight’s match will be Quetta’s first after the restart of HBL PSL 6.
Meanwhile, Islamabad United will be looking to bounce back from their defeat against Lahore Qalandars, on Wednesday. They are currently on the third position in the points table, with three wins from five matches.
Islamabad United captain Shadab Khan: “We have a lot of positives from the game [against Lahore Qalandars]. The conditions here are a bit different from Karachi. Wickets are a bit dodgy and as a batsman, we have to change our strategy for upcoming games.”
“I am satisfied with my team’s performance. We will learn from our mistakes and will make a strong comeback in the next game.”
Quetta Gladiators captain Sarfaraz Ahmed: “Yes we had a horrendous run in Karachi when our game plan went haywire, particularly our fielding. That is surely one area we’ve been working on diligently. Obviously we are in a do-or-die situation and our prime objective coming into this leg is to show drastic improvement in all departments. There are no options left [for us] but to play good cricket consistently in the hope of making the playoffs.”
“In fact, I view this [predicament] as a great opportunity to bounce back in the tournament despite having experienced a bad run in Karachi.”
