The warm-up match between the United States (USA) and Bangladesh for the T20 World Cup 2024 was cancelled at Grand Prairie Stadium on Tuesday due to a tornado in Dallas.

Severe weather conditions in Texas, including multiple rain spells and thunderstorms, significantly impacted the area.

The extreme weather wreaked havoc at the stadium, destroying the giant screen set up for replays and match-related graphics. Forecasters have warned that the ongoing storms may move towards the East Coast, potentially affecting cities between North Carolina and Maryland. This area, lying between New York and Florida, is significant as multiple T20 World Cup matches are scheduled there.

Despite the disruptions, Texas is set to host two more warm-up matches: Nepal vs the USA on Thursday and the Netherlands vs Canada on Friday.

It is worth noting that The T20 World Cup 2024 officially kicks off on June 1 in the United States and the West Indies. A total of 55 games will be played across nine venues in both regions. In the West Indies, matches will be held at Kensington Oval (Barbados), Brian Lara Cricket Academy (Trinidad), Providence Stadium (Guyana), Sir Vivian Richards Stadium (Antigua), Darren Sammy Cricket Ground (St Lucia), and Arnos Vale Stadium (St Vincent).

In the United States, the tournament will be hosted at three venues: Eisenhower Park (New York), Lauderhill (Florida), and Grand Prairie Stadium (Texas).
