Veteran all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez believes the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should take responsibility for the postponement of the PSL season six rather than blaming the breaches on just one individual.
PCB’s Medical and Sports Sciences head, Dr Sohail Saleem stepped down from his position after the board was under scrutiny regarding the breaches in the bio-secure bubble.
“It is very unfortunate scenario as a Pakistani and as a cricketer. We all have played our roles in bringing cricket back to Pakistan. You can call it mismanagement or bad planning, but I believe it has happened. Just like people take credit for small things, so you also need to take responsibility for such a big incident. It is not right to blame the entire thing on just one person,” Hafeez said on Cricket Baaz’s YouTube channel.
“We need to understand that our reputation has taken a major hit. I personally feel sorry because it shouldn’t have happened. I hope things are planned and managed better from here so nothing like this happens again with Pakistan,” he added.

PCB have appointed an independent panel to carry out a holistic and detailed review of the Covid-19 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the HBL Pakistan Super League 2021, identify any gaps and advise as to the reasons why the bio-secure environment did not remain Covid-free.
The independent panel will submit its findings and recommendations to PCB Chairman Ehsan Mani by March 31.
