In recent interviews, he viewed to improve the standards of Pakistan cricket, infra-structure, and provide financial security to local and uprising cricketers.
He could not see any road map for grass-root cricketers to reach at the highest level.
Regarding current PCB chairman Ramiz Raja, Hafeez suggested focusing on existing grounds and providing proper equipment to curators before making new big moves like bringing in drop-in pitches.
While his views for people in administrative roles were to replace them if they could not deliver. He quoted an example of players where they are dropped after a bad series similarly, administrators should be answerable too for their performance.
When asked about his future plans he replied diplomatically, saying that he will do anything for the betterment of Pakistan cricket and needs power and authority to make changes for future generations.
But it seems like Hafeez was unhappy with the way his statements have been misquoted in media. He showed his displeasure via a tweet and wrote: “My request to all respected sport[s] journalists if you can’t share my full contextual statements, then please don’t share it. Regards.”
