Former Pakistan team director, Mohammad Hafeez, has taken accountability for the disappointing performance of the Men in Green during the recent Australia tour, where they suffered a 3-0 whitewash.

Despite his willingness to address the team's shortcomings, Hafeez disclosed that he was instructed not to do so.

“I wanted to shed light on the failure of the Australia tour when I was the team director but I was asked to stop,” Hafeez said.

“I take responsibility for the failure,” he added.

Hafeez expressed optimism that the team would eventually exhibit improved performance in Australian. However, he highlighted the need for a discontinuation of abrupt changes in the PCB hierarchy by the government.

While acknowledging the team's historical struggles in Australia, Hafeez remained hopeful about future success, stating, "We haven't won in Australia yet, but one day we will. I want to convey to young people that you can rise without recommendations."

Hafeez's abrupt removal as the Team Director by the PCB last month, following the general elections and the end of the caretaker government's tenure, marked a significant change in the leadership of the Pakistan cricket team.
