Pakistan’s fast-bowler Haris Rauf has tested positive for the novel coronavirus again. According to sources, the positive result came in a test conducted at Lahore after the pacer had tested negative in the previous test.

Rauf was immediately sent into self-isolation after his test result was provided. The fast-bowler was sent back to Islamabad from Lahore in a special vehicle.

The 26-year-old, during this self-isolation period at his home, will remain in contact with the medical panel of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). Rauf will undergo another test after the completion of a ten-day period.

Earlier, the Lahore Qalandars pacer had tested positive for Covid-19 thrice in a row which is why he did no travel to England with the advance group.

It remains to be seen whether PCB decides to persist with Rauf or select a replacement ahead of England series.

Old Trafford will host the first Test of the series starting on Wednesday August 5. The final two Tests will be played at the Rose Bowl from Thursday, August 13 and Friday, August 21.

The three T20Is will take place at Old Trafford on Friday, August 28, Sunday, August 30 and the final match of the tour on Tuesday, September 1.
