Last month, in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, he seemed uncertain about his own prospects, not only for the 2023 World Cup but also regarding his inclusion in the red-ball team for Pakistan.

"The current bowlers representing Pakistan are performing exceptionally well, and they deserve to be part of the team. As for myself, I remain uncertain about my inclusion in the national side [for World Cup], and I'm unsure if I'll be part of the red-ball team as well," Hassan had said.

Meanwhile, Aamer Jamal also shared his excitement on Twitter, after he received his maiden Test call-up for Pakistan.

"I always wanted to play test cricket. It was a dream always and to make it true it required continuous hard work, dedication, focus and believe. Allhumdulliah, all praises to Allah so proud to be in the test squad. Need prayers," Jamal wrote.
