Former Australian opener Matthew Hayden and ex-England all-rounder Paul Collingwood shared their T20 World Cup 2024 finalists on an Indian sports channel.

Collingwood predicted England and the West Indies to reach the final, while Hayden chose Australia and India.

“Top two is going to be England and the West Indies, I think they will go all the way,” said Collingwood.

Yuvraj Singh, now the T20 World Cup ambassador, also shared his picks, hoping for India and West Indies, or possibly Pakistan to reach finals, but not Australia.

“I’m hoping India, probably West Indies. Pakistan 3, and no Australians (laughs),” Yuvraj said.

Yuvraj emphasized India's need for self-belief to win the tournament.

"I believe we have the self belief of winning big tournaments. I think if India believes and backs themselves and plays to their own strengths, I'm sure they'll go all the way. And that's what I believe in," Yuvraj said.

"I think that's the reason why we won. We focused on where, how we are good and the things that we need to do rather than thinking of where the opposition is going to harm us. We have the match winners,” he added.

The tournament kicked off on June 1, with the USA, one of the hosts, winning against Canada.

Teams will be divided into four groups, with the top two from each group progressing to the Super Eight stage. The Super Eight will then be divided into two groups, and the leading two teams from each will advance to the semi-finals.
