Franchises have put forward this suggestion after the recent postponement of the ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies due to Covid-19
The Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchises have asked Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to book entire hotel for the safety of players from the Covid-19 for the HBL PSL 7.
According to Aqib Javed, the Director-Cricket Operations of Lahore Qalandars, all franchises have put forward this suggestion after the recent postponement of the ODI series between Pakistan and West Indies due to Covid-19.
"The board would now have to make very good arrangements to make PSL Covid free. It's a big challenge for the PCB but there are no qualms if they exceed the quarantine period of the foreign players too," Aqib said in a media talk in Lahore yesterday.
"All franchises have asked PCB to book entire hotel keeping virus in mind. We also asked to increase the number of players from 18 to 20," he added.
It must be noted that PSL 7 is scheduled to start from January 27 in Karachi. National Stadium will host 15 matches while Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore will host 19, including the final on February 27.
