Veteran Zimbabwean all-rounder Sikandar Raza reaffirmed his commitment to Zimbabwe Cricket on X (formerly Twitter).

Although born in Pakistan, the 38-year-old has dedicated his career to Zimbabwe since moving there with his parents.

During a recent Q&A session on social media, a fan inquired whether Raza would consider playing for Pakistan to address their middle-order issues. Raza swiftly confirmed his loyalty to Zimbabwe, emphasizing that despite his Pakistani birth, he has always been a product of Zimbabwean cricket.

“I am a born Pakistani and a product of Zimbabwe Cricket. I will only and ever represent Zimbabwe. They spent time and money on me, and I am only trying to repay their faith, and whatever I achieve will never even get close to repaying it. Zim is mine and am theirs fully,” Sikandar Raza responded to the fan on X.

During a recent Q&A session, Raza also shared his current favorite international players. Among the batters, he named Indian captain Rohit Sharma, Zimbabwe's Craig Ervine, and Pakistan’s Abdullah Shafique. For bowlers, he selected Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah, West Indies' Sunil Narine, and Pakistan's Shaheen Afridi.

Zimbabwe is set to face Pakistan in a white-ball series in late November 2024, featuring three ODIs and three T20Is. The series will commence with the first ODI on November 24 and the opening T20I on December 1.
