I never get consistent chances: Usman Qadir frustrated after Pakistan snub

Pakistan leg-spinner, Usman Qadir, has expressed his frustration after being repeatedly overlooked and not selected by the Pakistan selection committee despite his impressive performances in domestic cricket.

Usman, who has only played 23 T20Is and one ODI, believes he hasn't been given consistent chances to prove himself as a better match performer for the national team.

"I am not being given consistent chances. Whenever I am provided a chance, I only play one or two matches, and even these cannot give us hope whether we will continue to play or not," Qadir said. 

"However, I will keep doing hard work and will continue till the end. I will make a comeback in the team soon," he added.

The 29-year-old also spoke about his hard work and dedication on becoming an all-rounder in the modern game of cricket. 

"The status of an all-rounder in today's cricket is very valuable, and I am working quite hard on my batting. In the near future, you will see the positive result of my hard work," he said.

The leg-spinner also spoke about the frustration that comes with being left out of the team and also quoted some words that his father, the legendary Pakistan leg spinner, Abdul Qadir, used to tell him.

"As a player, it breaks your heart when things start roaming in your mind that if I could have played, then this could have happened. My father always used to say that whenever you are not being given a chance, you have to perform so well that no one will be able to exclude you from the team. But it's a part of life," he said.

Usman also heapead praise on Usama Mir for his exceptional performance in domestic cricket and also talked about the importance of performing well in domestic cricket and earning the opportunity to play international cricket. 

"I think those who perform well in domestic cricket ritually deserves the opportunity to play international cricket, whether it's Usama Mir, Shadab, or myself," said Usman.

"Usama Mir, in particular, has been quite outstanding with his performance with both bat and ball, and I wish him good luck because he is good enough to play international cricket," he concluded.

Despite his frustrations, Usman Qadir remains committed to working hard and making a comeback to the Pakistan cricket team.
