Pakistan batter Iftikhar Ahmed discussed his on-field exchange of words with Shaheen Afridi in the PSL 9 match between Lahore Qalandars and Multan Sultans on Wednesday.

The incident occurred when Multan Sultans required 39 runs from 21 balls, and Iftikhar entered the crease in the 17th over following the dismissal of Mohammad Rizwan.

Iftikhar kicked off his innings with a boundary, and when Afridi came into bowl, the 33-year-old managed another boundary off him.

Afridi was observed uttering something to his fellow Pakistani teammate while gesturing with his arm. Iftikhar, equally unfazed, locked eyes with the pacer before responding.

The umpire intervened to defuse the tension between the two teammates. Post-match, Iftikhar was questioned about the altercation with the 23-year-old.

"Look, this is the beauty of cricket. Watching other with a bit of aggression, then boast yourself. Personally, I play with a bit of aggression. Shaheen is our junior, there's nothing like that with him. Now he's even the captain of Pakistan, so it's tough to stare at him," Iftikhar said.

It is worth noting that Iftikhar cruised Multan Sultans to third consecutive win in PSL with an unbeaten 34 runs off just 11 balls.
