Shadab expressed confidence in his own abilities and is not afraid of competing with other spinners for a place in Pakistan playing XI
Pakistan's vice-captain, Shadab Khan, heaped praise on Usama Mir for his exceptional form and expressed his willingness to make way for the talented spinner if required.
The all-rounder also emphasized the importance of giving consisten chances to all the players.
"Usama Mir is performing well which is benefiting Pakistan. If playing Usama means I have to sit out, then I don’t mind. However, if Usama fails to perform in some matches, then dropping him would be injustice to him," Shadab said.
Shadab expressed confidence in his own abilities and is not afraid of competing with other spinners for a place in Pakistan playing XI.
"There is healthy competition between spinners, which ultimately benefits Pakistan. I have never been afraid that someone would replace me, as I am confident in my abilities," he said.
Battling frequent injuries, the 24-year-old remains undeterred and determined to maintain his position within the team.
"I have experienced numerous injuries. I have never been afraid of losing my place during rehab. My intention has always been good for the team and I'm the only one who'd offer a chance to an in-form spinner," he concluded.
It is worth noting that Usama Mir delivered an outstanding performance during the Vitality Blast 2023.
Usama played for Worcestershire and showcased remarkable skills, securing 19 wickets in 11 matches while maintaining an impressive economy rate of 7.29.
