Imad Wasim had initially announced his retirement in November 2023
Pakistan all-rounder Imad Wasim has announced his decision to reverse his retirement, making himself available for the T20I side leading up to the ICC T20 World Cup 2024.
Imad Wasim had initially announced his retirement from international cricket in November 2023. Despite playing his last T20I for Pakistan against New Zealand in Rawalpindi a year ago, Imad had consistently stated that his retirement was not definitive, and he was willing to come back to international cricket when needed.
Imad's exceptional performance in PSL 9 was instrumental in Islamabad United clinching their third title. The PCB officials were keen on bringing Imad back in the setup due to his outstanding recent form.
Imad took to the social media platform 'X' on Saturday and expressed his commitment to giving his best for Pakistan cricket.
"I am happy to announce that pursuant to meeting PCB officials, I have reconsidered my retirement and am delighted to declare my availability for Pakistan cricket in T20i format leading up to ICC T20i World Cup 2024," Imad posted on X.
"I would like to thank the PCB for reposing trust in me and I would give my very best to bring laurels to my country. Pakistan comes first," he added.
