All-rounder, Imad Wasim, opened up about his experience of playing under the captaincy of Babar Azam on his return to the national side.

While speaking in an exclusive interview with Cricket Pakistan, Imad stated that there is mutual respect between him and Babar and when he plays for Pakistan, he puts everything else aside.

"When you play for the country, you keep other elements aside, and this is exactly what we did. We kept everything aside. Needless to say, he [Babar] is the captain of Pakistan's team, and I was rather playing as a player. This mutual respect between us has always been there, and it is still there. And when you play for the country, you are obliged to leave all of these things behind," Imad said.

The 34-year-old all-rounder also reminisced about his picture with Babar in the plane, which went viral during New Zealand series, and said that in the coming years, they would recall these memories they made as teammates.

"This all is a part of enjoyment because down the road, after 15 to 20 years, we'll smile or laugh after looking at these pictures about what we have done and what we have achieved. So, these memories are never-ending. Most importantly, love each other; this is what we call enjoyment," he further added.

Apart from international cricket, Imad was also the central figure in PSL as he was the third-highest run-scorer in the competition, having scored 404 runs in 10 innings at an average of 134.67, including three half-centuries. The 34 y/o was equally fantastic with the ball for his team, taking nine wickets in 10 innings at an average of 28.22, with his best bowling figures being 3 for 16.

These impressive performances helped him earn a recall in the T20I side and he eventually went to play under the captaincy of Babar in the five-match T20I series against the Kiwis.
