Ticket prices have surged for the much-anticipated T20 World Cup 2024 match between Pakistan and India on June 9 in New York.
As per a local media report, tickets previously priced at $1,300 are now being sold for over $2,500, nearly doubled in cost.
The sharp increase in ticket prices is driven by heightened demand due to the large population of Pakistani and Indian immigrants in the United States and Canada.
Furthermore, India has historically dominated T20 World Cup matches against Pakistan, securing victory in six out of seven encounters, including the final in 2007 and the most recent match in Melbourne in 2022.
It is worth noting that the tournament will be held at three venues in the USA and six in the West Indies from June 1 to 29.
The competition will kick off with the USA facing off against Canada at Grand Prairie Stadium in Dallas. England is the reigning champion after defeating Pakistan in the 2022 final.
